For the seventh year in a row, the Character Fashion Show proved to be a big hit. This show is an event that the middle school students look forward to all year, the sixth grade girls have even been planning their debut since the fifth grade and I am sure that they are not alone. The fashion show is each middle school student’s time to shine and show his or her creativity and talent with homemade costumes and clever speeches. This year the fashion show served as the closing ceremony to this year’s Read for Life program. We were pleased to welcome 45 kindergartners from George Washington Carver Elementary School in Cleveland. Watching our students’ and our guests’ faces during the show was priceless. They loved voting for the character in each category and they were enraptured by the many characters that came to life such as Curious George and Fancy Nancy.

The winners of the different categories include: Most Adventurous: The Flash; Best Dressed: Captain Underpants; Craziest: Thing 1, Thing 2 and The Cat in the Hat; Most Clever: The Webster Dictionary; Cutest Couple: Prince Charming and Cinderella; Best Group: The Chipettes; Most Curious: If you give a Mouse a Cookie.
