Marla started teaching at Gross Schechter in 2015 after working at the Jewish Education Center and several local synagogues. She has worked in general and Jewish education for 25 years. Marla feels lucky to spend her days with the Kindergarten students. One of her highlights is encouraging them to come up with their own questions about the Torah, spirituality and holidays. She loves to engage in philosophy for children, which relates to her favorite professional development course. She has a BA in Psychology and Judaic Studies and an MA in Jewish Education. She’s traveled to Israel 10 times and is always planning her next trip. She enjoys spending time with her husband and shlepping her two teenagers around. Marla enjoys reading, gardening, all crafts, and exercise.
