Leah Gancz, originally from Toronto, Canada has been living in Cleveland for almost three years. A graduate of Stern College for Women and Ursuline College, Leah has always had a passion for working with children within the academic realm. She spent one year student teaching at Beachwood’s Hilltop Elementary School while simultaneously completing her Master’s in Elementary Education and K-12 Reading Endorsement. During the summers, Leah has helped run a number of summer travel programs including TJJ and Achva West. For 3 years, Leah worked at NCSY, teaching young Jewish public school students. Having lived in Australia and Israel, Leah loves adventures and traveling. She met her husband, Eli, a Cleveland native, while working as a second grade Judaic Studies and Hebrew Language teacher at Manhattan Day School. Leah and Eli just bought a home in the University Heights neighborhood and are looking forward to becoming a part of the Schechter community!
