Are you ready for the Polar Vortex coming this weekend and into next week?  I want to remind everyone to dress warmly next week as temperatures and wind chills will be the lowest of the year.  We will monitor the weather carefully and stay inside for recess if it is too cold.  But with those potential low temperatures, even at drop off and pick up children should be wearing coats, hats and gloves.

We are very excited about celebrating Purim on Friday, February 26th!  We unfortunately missed out last year as schools were closed just before the holiday.  So this year we have to make up for missing last year.  Start planning what costume your child(ren) will wear.  We will have a great day planned to celebrate this fun holiday in a safe and healthy manner.

Did you see the wonderful Public Service Announcement produced by third graders Adam Fishman and Lielle Greller?  They are spreading the word about the importance of recycling at Gross Schechter Day School.  If you haven’t seen it click here.

I’m sure you have heard that educators in Cuyahoga County will be receiving COVID vaccinations in the next couple of weeks.  Because the vaccination times for all school districts may fall during the work week, our schedule may be altered to accommodate all our staff being out of school. This may happen for both vaccination days.  We also know bus transportation may be impacted for our local public schools on the days they are scheduled for the vaccine.

Right now we know that there will be no transportation for the following districts on the respective days:

South Euclid-Lyndhurst: Wednesday, February 10 and Wednesday, March 3
Mayfield: Thursday, February 11 and Thursday, March 4
As we learn more, we will share the information.

2021-2022 ENROLLMENT INFORMATION FOR RISING 1ST – 8TH GRADES

This is a reminder that, as per the terms of your auto-enrollment contract for your rising 1st-8th grade student(s), we will withdraw the enrollment deposit of $550/child from your FACTS account on February 20, 2021. Notification before February 1 is required if you wish to pause this action.

For those of you who also have a child(ren) in our ECC, you will need to re-enroll them for next year via the Parent Portal.

If you are unsure of your enrollment status for next year, please read our Frequently Asked Questions about Auto-Enrollment or reach out to Janna Dorfman at jdorfman@grossschechter.org.
